| Mission Statement: To be a trusted and crucial partner in U.S. Intelligence efforts around the world, and to help the U.S. Government produce capabilities that dramatically improve the quantity, the quality, the breadth, and the depth of the intelligence produced. VaST is a global collection of engineers, signals analysts, linguists, target developers, geolocators, intelligence analysts, collection operators, collection managers, and mission managers who all share an unusually high passion for state-of-the-art Intelligence Operations. Because we are embedded in multiple U.S. Government Operations centers around the world, and because we carefully choose the right people for the right work at the right time, VaST is uniquely suited to understanding the detail and nuances required against some of the most vexing problems facing the nation's Intelligence and military communities. Successfully applying that knowledge earns VaST its reputation – using that hard-won expertise toward the emerging threats and technologies ensures VaST's position as the premier contractor-based SIGINT operations organization. Company Philosophy While all companies will state something similar, VaST is truly committed to supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community's mission. "Take care of the mission and the rest will take care of itself." Every employee, from the President to the newest hire, operates on this fundamental principle even if it is to the short-term detriment of the company (maintaining integrity with the Government will always be a long-term benefit that outweighs any short-term gain achieved by compromising this principle). VaST is committed to slow growth. Formed in 1999, VaST remains small at less than 65 people. We could have easily grown more, especially in the post 9/11 climate, but we have stayed committed to growing only with the right people that come along at the right time and when we can place them in the kind of work we can all be proud of. VaST is a flat organization, comprised of people that want to be intimately involved in operations. As we slowly grow some extra overhead may be inevitable, but with 95% of us still involved full time in daily operations we expect to remain a fairly "flat" and a very productive company. |
